OIM7509 Thinking Acting Artificial Intelligence

This graduate elective course introduces students to artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, their value propositions in business, and their transformative potential and responsible implementation. We will cover AI from machine learning to natural language processing to “deep learning,” and Large Language Models. We will address both the functions performed by these technologies and the business issues that emerge from their adoption—including the roles to be performed by humans in the knowledge work processes of the future, the ethical implications of AI technologies, and the holistic redesign of the AI-enhanced organization. The course will include study of exemplary organizations, and a final project in which students will create and present a generative AI strategy for an organization. The curriculum includes multiple hands-on activities with AI technologies, and students are expected to review materials explaining the operation of artificial intelligence technologies, but no programming background is necessary for this course.
